If I pull down the latest git and try to make a defconfig,
I get the following:-

$ make atngw100-base_defconfig
make: *** No rule to make target `atngw100-base_defconfig'. Stop.

I've not used BR since the svn days, so has this changed ?

Regards
Mark

It shouldn't, and it works here:

make atngw100-base_defconfig
cp ./target/device/Atmel/atngw100-base/atngw100-base_defconfig .config
...

Could you pull latest git and try again?

Me too. Do you have
./target/device/Atmel/atngw100-base/atngw100-base_defconfig ?

 Mark> mpfj at mpfj-x64:~/avr32/buildroot$

very odd. The makefile rule (in the toplevel Makefile) is simply:

%_defconfig: $(CONFIG)/conf
        cp $(shell find ./target/ -name $@) .config
        -@$(MAKE) oldconfig

So I don't get it why it doesn't trigger for you. Does a simple 'make
blah_defconfig' work for you?

Does it work with the 2009.08 release? What version of make are you using?

I looked at this and put in some @echo lines before and after the cp.
They were never executed !?! Is this some bash / dash setup thing ?

No ... everything comes up "no rule to make".

2009.08 release of buildroot ? It's not out yet is it ?

Well, they shouldn't as make complains that it doesn't know how to make
the rule, but I don't get why.

Does it work if you change the %_defconfig to atngw100-base_defconfig ?

Ah yes ... but weirdly the home cgit page at http://git.buildroot.net/buildroot
only shows 2009.08_rc2 as the latest tag. Clicking on the [...] below the tag
list shows a different story ???

Yes I noticed as well earlier today. I've sent a mail to the osusl
admins to take a look at it. Strangely enough it's only broken for
buildroot and not uclibc/busybox.

I've also noticed that "make saveconfig" does the same ...

mpfj at mpfj-x64:~/avr32/buildroot$ make saveconfig
make: *** No rule to make target `saveconfig'. Stop.

But "make", "make all" and "make menuconfig" are okay.

I didn't check, but I do remember that there was a clean up where the
atngw100 variations were removed. I think there is only
atngw100_defconfig now.

Kind Regards,

No, the _base defconfig is still there.

find -name \*base\*defconfig
./Atmel/atngw100-base/atngw100-base_defconfig

Hi,

I have this problem using the foreigh toolchain. Can anyone know how to fix
it?

libtool: relink: /usr/share/gnush4-nofpu_linux_v0701-1/bin/sh3-linux-gcc -Os -pipe -Os --sysroot /home/michael/lavoro/renesas/buildroot/output/build/staging_dir/ -shared .libs/gmodule.o -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/home/michael/lavoro/renesas/buildroot/output/build/staging_dir/usr/lib -ldl -L/home/michael/lavoro/renesas/buildroot/output/target/usr/lib -L/usr/lib -lglib-2.0 -L/home/michael/lavoro/renesas/buildroot/output/build/staging_dir/usr/lib -L/home/michael/lavoro/renesas/buildroot/output/target/home/michael/lavoro/renesas/buildroot/output/build/staging_dir/usr/lib -lintl -lc -Wl,--export-dynamic -Wl,-soname -Wl,libgmodule-2.0.so.0 -o .libs/libgmodule-2.0.so.0.2000.5
/usr/lib/libdl.so: file not recognized: File format not recognized
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
libtool: install: error: relink `libgmodule-2.0.la' with the above command before installing it

That's a libtool issue, and I haven't yet found the proper solution for
it. It's probably a matter of recompiling libtool and using our own.

Ok, I will try it and investigate on it.
