The last TiNDC is more than a year old, and if I remember right, the
previous editor isn't around to make a new one, so i was thinking about
doing it myself.

I think the TiNDC's were very interesting to know the current status of
things in a more enjoyable and friendly way than the status matrix.

I know they were a summary of the channel logs, but summarizing more
than a year of log, even if we have all of them, is an huge task, so if
you agree, I propose to do them in this way.

1.- I post a list of questions in this list (current status?, what are
you doing now?, future plans?, is there anything you need from us users
right now? thing like that).
2.- Any developer who wants to, answer one or more of them and/or adds a
new question that can be answered.
3.- A week after my post with the questions, I summarize the answers and
post that summary.
4.- If everyone agrees, it's posted as a TiNDC. If there is any problem,
it's fixed prior to publication.

What do you think? Would you agree with this? Does anyone have a better
suggestion?

If this is accepted, maybe we can repeat it every few month to keep the
TiNDC's up to date.

If your writing skills are up to it I can but encourage you to do so.

The status matrix shows a synthetic, high level view of the status of the
driver, and it's useful in itself to
show how ready nouveau is for various use cases.

That would be, I believe, very welcome.

I used to help the previous TiNDC editor with small technical questions
and big picture stuff, and I'll be happy to help you as well in order to
offload the currently active developers.

Thanks for you interest in TiNDC, we need PR tools and TiNDC is a great
one.

I don't know how good my writings are, but we can give it a try and see
what comes out. Since I intend to present the text in this list before
publishing, you can always make corrections or even tell me I'm not good
enough (and since I'm not native english speaker, that may be the case).

I was not implying that they are mutually exclusive, but that they
complementary. There are thing you can't easily reflect in a status
matrix, but you can comment about that in a TiNDC.

I'm sure there will be thing I won't understand, so any help will be
welcomed.

So, if nobody has complains about this, I think the following questions
may cover most things, and whoever wants to answer them can always add
anything else he wants. I'm open to comments/answers/questions.

Current status;

1.- What do you think are the most important changes in the last year
(since the last TiNDC is more than a year old)?

2.- What is going on right now? What are you (individual developer)
working on right now and how far are you on that task? Finding problems
with it?

3.- What is going to happen in a short time (not asking dates, but short
term plans)? Power management? Video decoding perhaps? Something else?

Help needed;

1.- There is a nv9x dumps request in the "testers wanted" wiki page but,
is there something else you need?

Hi!

I said I'll try to make a draft in a week, but I had a change in my
schedule, reducing the time I can spend on this.

There is A LOT to read, and some times I need to reread or google things
to understand what I'm reading, so it's going to take a little longer,
but don't worry because I won't disappear without completing this.
