Hi,
Is www.alsa-project.org down? Someone in a bug report he couldn't
connect to it and here's what happens when I try:
$ wget http://www.alsa-project.org
--2011-07-08 11:41:36-- http://www.alsa-project.org/
Resolving www.alsa-project.org... 77.48.224.243
Connecting to www.alsa-project.org|77.48.224.243|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response...

I believe the issue is with the redirection that takes several seconds.
Try to connect directly with the Wikipedia instance at
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Main_Page
