Hello,

I am having issues trying to change the resolution. I have passed the
resolution that I want in the u-boot setting with the following setting:

setenv mmcargs 'setenv bootargs console=${console},${baudrate}
root=${mmcroot} video=mxcfb1:dev=ldb,LDB-XGA,if=RGB666
video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi, 1920x1080M@60, if=RGB24'

I want the resolution to be 1920x1080 and I checked that this resolution is
supported by the bsp. Is there another place for me to change the resolution
of my screen?

Thanks for your help,

Alexander Keller

Alexander,

Please take a look at your command line.
It may have a spare space in it, I guess. Otherwise, it should work as far
as I can tell.

Thanks,
He

I think he means this one:
video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,<EXTRA-SPACE>1920x1080M@60, if=RGB24

Cheers,
Erik

Hi,
I'm having a similar issue with a 800x480 rgb screen, I'd like to change the colordepth to 24.
The uboot setting I'm using is:

setenv bootargs $bootargs video=mxcfb0:dev=lcd,CLAA-WVGA,if=RGB666

and I tried setting it to:

setenv bootargs $bootargs video=mxcfb0:dev=lcd,800x480,if=RGB24

but this does'nt seem to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Nino

you need to check that the 800x480 is a valid mode known by the driver
(as is CLAA-WVGA actually). grep in the kernel source is youer friend
here ;-)

I think you want 800x480M@60 here instead of 800x480.

The "if=RGBx" parameter controls the output pixel format to match the
display. It doesn't change the frame-buffer memory layout.

For that, you want to use the 'bpp=N' flag.

setenv bootargs $bootargs video=mxcfb0:dev=lcd,CLAA-WVGA,bpp=24,if=RGB666

You can verify this after boot by looking in /sys:
	# cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/bits_per_pixel

Eric

Hi Eric,
Thank you very much for your help!
Running this command
setenv bootargs $bootargs video=mxcfb0:dev=lcd,CLAA-WVGA,bpp=24,if=RGB666
enabled 24 bit on my linux image (I checked with fbset ), but I think I'm still missing something because If for example I run Midori, all the pages and images seems to use few colors.
I modified xorg.conf to change my screens timings and modeline but It did't fix the issue.
Is MACHINE imx6qsabrelite deprecated and nitrogen6x should be used instead?

Regards,

Nino

Glad to hear it.

I'm not sure what may be going on there. I know little of X and
less of Midori.

As Otavio mentioned, each of these points at our kernel tree at the
moment, so they're both good.

I don't know off-hand whether this is represented, but the nitrogen6x
machine includes support for the TiWi-R2 WLAN chip, but that's not
supported by the hardware on SABRE Lite.

how is wired your display to the board ? Here you select a 18 bits
hardware interface (if=RGB666)
