ath9k developers:

I have a question concerning the 9300 chip sets running in TURBO mode. I
have the 9280 running in Turbo/10Mhz and 5Mhz mode and I have our 9300's
running in 10Mhz and 5Mhz, but when I try to put them in Turbo mode it
will not happen. Does anyone know if Atheros/Qualcom dropped support for
Turbo mode on the 9300's? What I'm doing is setting the AR_PHY_GEN_CTRL
with (AR_PHY_GC_TURBO_MODE|AR_PHY_GC_TURBO_SHORT).

Thanks much
Clyde

Hi,

The AR9300 introduced "enterprise features". I _think_ half/quarter rate
operation is one of those enterprise features. However, I don't know if
it's a software or a hardware enforced thing.

If your NIC doesn't support the half/quarter rate enterprise feature then I
think you're SoL. You may have to try the Enterprise revisions of the
AR9300 series hardware.

Adrian:
Thanks so much for the information, that really helps me. I think I am
SOL with at least the 9300's we have. I'll have to look for the
Enterprise revisions.

Thanks Again
Clyde

No ,as people had said before doing it in the mac80211 will be the
best solution.

Hi guys

In November last year you posted info on the fact that HT doesn't work in
IBSS (ad hoc) mode in ath9k. You were playing around with it at the time.

To your knowledge , has any progress been made on that? We use ad hoc mode
for mesh - and the backhaul speed problem is now hitting fever pitch (we are
using madiwifi currently in ahdemo mode which is restricted to about 12Mbps)

If not - its cool - just wanted to find out if you knew anything more. Is is
even possible to code the driver to do this - or is there a bigger problem?
We thought of mesh point mode as a workaround - but it appears from reading
that it too is buggy....

A penny for your thoughts?

Thanks very much
Lloyd Lopes
