[PATCH] Marvell releases a public Armada 370 datasheet

Hello,

Marvell has very recently (last week) released a public version of the
datasheet for the Marvell Armada 370 SoC. This is a very good news for
all the developers and contributors interested by the Armada 370.

The following patch adds the reference to this specification in the
appropriate kernel documentation, where we already reference the
publicly available documentation for other Marvell SoCs.

The documentation for the Armada XP (another, more powerful SoC,
released approximately at the same time as the Armada 370) is not yet
publicly available, but hopefully it should also be released in the
near future as well.

Marvell has very recently released a public version of the "Functional
specifications" and "Hardware specifications" datasheets for the
Marvell Armada 370 SoC. This allows contributors and developers not
under NDA with Marvell to get more details about this SoC than what
the current kernel code shows, and hopefully allows to improve the
support for this SoC in the mainline kernel, as well as in other
projects.

great work convincing Marvell to release public datasheets! This not
only allows us to improve the support but also backup our reviews for
your patches, which IMHO is much more important.

Wow, many many thanks to the Marvell team for opening their mind on this
(and of course to you Thomas and Greg for convincing them). While I do
have access to this doc now (and it helped me fix a few issues already),
I expect that many enthousiast NAS owners will help improve the support
for these really nice chips!

Hoping that future chips will be documented much sooner next time!

One thing I forgot to mention and that Ezequiel Garcia reminded me is
that the Armada XP actually shares a lot of peripherals with the Armada
370. So the Armada 370 datasheet can also be very useful for people
working on Armada XP, since the vast majority of the peripherals are
essentially the same.

Hi Thomas

It is great to see that Marvell have released the document. Also the
success with getting the new SoCs into mainline so fast has been
really good. Lets hope device manufactures take the hint and use
mainline, not some hacked up branch.

As to shared peripherals between 370 and XP, could you make a quick
list of where they are different? The thermal sensor is one, if i
remember correctly, but that already has a driver. The list does not
need to be too detailed, it could be just "compatible/different" for
each peripheral. It is just enough to stop somebody bashing there head
against a brick wall because the registers are different and they
don't know it.
