Synchronize nitrogen6x kernel configuration with up-stream.
In particular:
- remove PCI RC/EP test mode:
https://community.freescale.com/thread/328257
- remove parts not supported on Boundary Devices boards:
WEIM
MIPI DSI
JFFS2/UBIFS (no NAND on Boundary Devices boards)
MAG3110
- Add support for Huawei 3G modem and IP routing
- Add USB ACM
- Add driver for magnetic swipe over GPIO pins

Add support for new Nitrogen6_VM board.
The Nitrogen6_VM is a variant of Nitrogen6x with a Solo processor,
512MiB/1GiB options for memory, on-board eMMC and an AR1020
resistive touch controller.
The board is designed to fit behind a 6.2" KoE 640x240 displays
with vertical-mount (VM) connectors to save space.

Any hope of getting 3.10.53 anytime soon? Including video

Both are present on our -pass1 branch, but we're still testing.
https://github.com/boundarydevices/linux-imx6/tree/boundary-imx_3.10.53_1.1.0_ga-pass1
Because of changes in the LVDS driver, we'll also need an update to the
boot script as described in this commit:
https://github.com/boundarydevices/u-boot-imx6/commit/740ce44

Eric

I just noticed a new boundary-imx_3.10.53_1.1.0_ga-pass2 branch.
This tests quite well on my SabreLite (audio, video, capture)
How close is this to being ready to "publish" to Yocto?
Also, when I boot with an HDMI (TV/monitor) plugged in, I still
get audio via the 3.5mm [headphone] jack. How can I enable it
to come out of my TV speakers?
Thanks
Note: I'm using an LCD or HDMI so I've not tried you latest boot script.

Very close. We'll probably do one more pass before publishing
perhaps early next week.

You can either re-configure ALSA to have HDMI (hw1:0) as the
default PCM or use parameters for various apps:
http://boundarydevices.com/audio-output-select
Note that this hasn't (shouldn't have) changed in 3.10.53.

Eric

Sadly, this part still isn't working for me. Here's my audio setup:
root@nitrogen6x:~# aplay -l

When I try this command, I get great sound from my speakers.
root@nitrogen6x:~# aplay /tmp/ItalianCafe_01.wav
Playing WAVE '/tmp/ItalianCafe_01.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo
However, when I try the HDMI via this command, I get no audio:
root@nitrogen6x:~# aplay -D hw:1,0 /tmp/ItalianCafe_01.wav

I'm not sure, but this may be a mismatch between the supported
audio rates.
Here's what we're using for testing:
for f in /usr/share/sounds/alsa/*.wav ; do
gst-launch playbin uri=file://$f audio-sink="alsasink device=hw:1,0";
done

OK, I'll try that. What package/recipe do I need for /usr/share/sounds/alsa ?

Alas, your test (above) does not work on the HDMI on my SabreLite.
It just hangs, as does mplayer :-(

Add support for new Nitrogen6_VM board.
The Nitrogen6_VM is a variant of Nitrogen6x with a Solo processor,
512MiB/1GiB options for memory, on-board eMMC and an AR1020
resistive touch controller.
The board is designed to fit behind a 6.2" KoE 640x240 displays
with vertical-mount (VM) connectors to save space.

Since I kinda pooched this patch set, would it be easier if I
re-send? Patchwork seems to have things a bit confused.
Please advise,
Eric

Not necessary, I handled those for dizzy and I think I got those right.
Please when doing the 3.10.53-based update sync the machine definition as well.
