There have been at least 2 similar patches, to which the Documentation maintainer has
replied to one of them:

> Since we bumped the version to 4.0, let us update the references to match that in the

So this should show up in the mainline kernel tree soon.

As Randy noted already, this is fixed in the docs tree.

Lots of people wanted to make this tweak...but I'm still waiting for
somebody who wants to actually modernize the document rather than just
patching the numbers.  Interested...?  :)
