I'm still working there, but as a Linaro assignee for LNG. Julian's last
mail fell through unfortunately, sorry about that.

Now the question of course is - is that really what we want to do?
I.e. is it known that he no longer wants to be a maintainer of this
code (or cannot be)? The mail address having become stale
doesn't necessarily mean that. Does one of you know where he
went? Should we - in the absence of a valid mail address - keep
his name here without mail address (I admit this is of limited use)?

This code is a driver specific for the Hisilicon board (i.e Huawei).
Having people directly from Huawei is useful for testing any changes in
common interrupt controller code which may impact their board.

As said on another thread [1], we'd like responsive maintainers on this
driver. For now, after a month it's already out-of-date (building but
suspect not booting) and more changes is planned in the common interface.

Zoltan told us he missed the mails by mistake [2], although Frediano as
left Huawei. Unless he has access to this board, there is not much
interest for us to keep him maintainer to this driver.

He left to an another company, to work on quite different things I
guess, and without a board it would be quite hard for him to do this
job. But I've added his private email address, so he can speak out for
himself.

Understood. The only reason I responded was really that it didn't
look like the removal was done with Frediano's consent, and it
didn't sound like he was unresponsive for like half a year or longer...

So I guess I'll leave it to the ARM maintainers then to decide...

Unless someone objects I'm going to pick this up next time I do a pass
over my queue committing things, which will likely be either later today
or tomorrow.

Interesting policy question -- in theory we could hit a situation
where someone switches jobs but actually does want to remain
maintainer of a subsystem, but forgets to update his e-mail address
for a month.

But of course in this case it's quite likely that having left the
company, he doesn't have the ability, much less the interest, to be
the maintainer anymore (having access to neither hardware nor internal
specs).

In this case some of us are still in contact with Frediano personally;
I'll forward this thread to his personal address so he can respond if
he wants. But it's still a bit of a gray area in the general case.

Zoltan already CCed him 2 weeks ago. So far I didn't see any answer from
him.

I pinged him last friday.
