hardware aac codec on imx53 ?

Hi folks,

I've heared that i.MX53 has an hardware AAC codec.

Is that correct ? And if it is, do we already have drivers support
for it ?

No, AAC decoding is done in software.

Any idea what their proprietary / binary-only aac codec library is for ?
Just an software codec ?
