Does this card work with the media code from dvbsky.net from kernel 4.x?

the code from dvbsky works, specificaly this one:
http://www.dvbsky.net/download/linux/media_build-bst-151028.tar.gz

i contacted dvbsky a month or two ago and complained about their old 
drivers no longer working on newer kernels, then i got the above link 
and CI works.

but, i would prefer a working solution using the official code that is 
in the kernel or the "proper" media_build.

there is several reports of this card being broken but unfortunately it 
looks like noone can fix it.
unfortunately i dont know enough to debug kernel drivers or how the 
linux kernel works.

Yes, with drivers from dvbsky.net CI is working, but other card 
TechnoTrend TT-connect CT2-4650 CI stoped working totaly. It has same 
chips as Dvbsky T980C:

Demodulator: Silicon Labs Si2168-A20
Tuner: Silicon Labs Si2158-A20
CI chip: CIMaX SP2HF

Dvbsky-based driver uses precompiled sit2_op.o insteadt of s12168 module.

Who could merge these?

I’m making some updates to the ATSC dtv-scan-tables. Two questions:

1)
Why do we have "us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB” *and* "us-NTSC-center-frequencies-8VSB”? They appear to be identical. The later could, theoretically, list NTSC encoded channels instead of 8VSB, but doesn’t actually do that. Suggest removing it?

2)
A number of the channel listings in those files have not been used for television use for several years now. Specifically channels 2 to 6 and everything from 51 and up were long ago sold off to cell phone use.

Additionally, channel 37 was *never* used, at least in the US and Canada, because it interfered with radio astronomy (IIRC it was sitting on one of the Lyman lines).

Since scanning through all of these channels will no longer work, perhaps it would be time to remove them? It reduces the total scan list from 80 channels to only 45, and would greatly improve scan times.

Hmm... maybe we could, instead, keep one of them as a "complete" ATSC 
possible channel list, and the other ones with the unregulated channels
stripped.

For terrestrial TV, those are unused, but perhaps the ATSC/NTSC
channeling might still be used by some cable operator.

I rename one of the files to "us-ATSC-T-center-frequencies-8VSB" with just
the channels that are actually regulated for terrestrial (air) broadcast,
and keep the other file renamed to let is be clearer. Something like:
"us-ATSC-C-center-frequencies-8VSB" or even keeping it named as 
"us-NTSC-center-frequencies-8VSB".

You could, instead, put the channel number inside the [], like:

I actually think that this makes the file better readable. Take a look
at this file, for example:
	isdb-t/br-Brazil

(that's basically the basic channeling used on NTSC, except that ISDB-T
 main carrier is not at the center of the channel, so the frequencies
 there have a shift when compared with the analog TV frequencies).

There, I opted to put a notes about the unused frequencies at the
header. This very same file is also used on other Countries in
South and Central America.

OK I will upload a new patch “turning off” the unused channels. They will just be commented out.

I have moved the channel numbers into the CHANNEL lines. I used the “physical channel number” which seems appropriate in this case. I would like to add a working entry for 22, but not sure what the DELIVERY_SYSTEM is?

Hi


Common interface in Dvbsky T980C is not working with Ubuntu 15.10 kernel 
4.2.0 and vanilla kernel 4.6 and latest dvb-drivers from Linux-media 
git. With Ubuntu 15.04 and kernel 3.19 it is working. I have tryid to 
find differences in drivers, but my knolege of c it is not possible. 
Erros message is "invalid PC-card".

I have also Tevii S470 with same PCIe bridge Conexant cx23885.

How to debug this? I can do minor changes to drivers for testing it.
