Hi,

I'm wondering whether it is possible to have the Message-ID of the message
as sent to an mlmmj list by a poster be included in the References of the
message that is the version of the original message sent by mlmmj. Why: on
an mlmmj list I'm currently subscribed to this does not happen and as mlmmj
discards the original Message-ID, this breaks the threading.

If this is not possible by changing the settings, as I think may be the
case after having read the documentation, would this be a reasonable
feature request? Namely, could the original Message-ID be added as the last
element of the References of the mail sent out by mlmmj, either by default,
or togglable.

Best,

Erik

Hi, Erik,

I don't think Mlmmj discards the message ID. For instance, your mail
arrived in my inbox via Mlmmj with:

Message-ID: <ccdc0ac0-7d7b-492a-a83f-7845f33e2d3b@equaeghe.nospammail.net>

So if the message ID is disappearing for you, it's either a bug
somewhere, or the administrator has requested it be done (e.g. via
Mlmmj's delheaders tunable). "Message ID" is used as an example of the
delheaders tunable, so I guess some people do see this as a good idea
and/or decide it must be a good idea if its in the docs.

You may need to address your request and reasoning to the administrator
of the list in question.

Ben

In case this is intentional, is there a way to add the original Message-ID
to the References?

Best,

Erik

Not in Mlmmj itself. It could potentially be done with a script, much
like how custom footers are generally implemented (see README.footers).
