Congratulations to the new maintainers!

It's been 4 years since 2.0 was released and packages such as buildroot
(which I use) generally include "official" releases which has me
wondering about release plans. And from a personal point of view
whether my "add --partuuid to probe" patch would be considered for it
:-) since Nick Vinson understandably wants to know if it is acceptable
before possibly changing his "Add PARTUUID detection support to
grub-probe" patch set to use it.

So, Wazzup with that?

We're actively working on merging outstanding bug fixes.
We're specifically not adding any new features before release unless there
is a very good reason. The features can go into next branch but are not a
priority

Long release cycle is an accident, not a norm. We will discuss with 4
maintainers what's the target release cycle will be

OK, fair enough although I think It could be argued that with MBR fading
away due to drives over 2TB and the corresponding increase in the use of
GPT labels that something as small and self contained as probe command
PARTUUID support might be "a good reason", especially given Grub's long
release cycles.

Your call of course,

Steve Kenton
