Hi

Too bad. I bought all the equipment to have a nice HTPC and I forgot to double check the HDMI capacity to transit the signal in pass through mode.
I was under impression that pass through would always be supported and allow to use an external decoder to decode all the signal whatever they are 2.0 or 5.1 True or DTS HD.

So I can expect new drivers to solve this issue? i mean it's a HW limiatation?

The other option is to buy buy buy a sound card to add the all channels into the HDMI? not sure if this is easy. Or to use the motherboard sound card to decode the sound but that is a shame as it s not anymore all digital.

On the interlace side no news if has been tested and approved so it will be merged in the next driver release.

Thanks
XabiX

Don't know the exact spec for True/DTS-HD, but most likely SPDIF
doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle that. SPDIF cannot even do
more than 2 channels of PCM. So with SPDIF you're stuck with Dolby
Digital, DTS or 2ch PCM.
