Could you try to comiple with the frame pointer?
It's just to be sure, since the similar bug was fixed (avoided) by
compiling with the frame pointer....

You can find the gcc option easily in the root Makefile of linux kernel
tree.

Don't see that option in my .config and according to "grep FRAME_POINTER
`find -name Kconfig`", it is only available on ppc64 and m32r platforms.
This system is an iBook running on a 900 MHz G3 (ppc), so the option
doesn't seem to be available...

Could you try to comiple with the frame pointer?
It's just to be sure, since the similar bug was fixed (avoided) by
compiling with the frame pointer....
