building gstreamer for ti8148 fails becasue DMAI does not build:

Looking at the recipes in
meta-texasinstruments/recipes-ti/dmai/ti-dmai[.inc | _svn.bb ] there
are DEPENDS, DMAIPLATFORM, DMAIBRANCH and SRCREV defined for cpus
dm6446, dm6467, dm355, dm365, omap3, omapl137, omapl138. dm814x and
dm816x are missing. Why is that? Where can I get the corresponding
branch and srcrev values for these platforms?

Hi Thilo,

DM81xx platforms don't use DMAI.  For gstreamer, this is still part of the gstreamer-ti project (gstreamer.ti.com) in a separate branch, with some documentation here :-

[I'm sure not what you want to hear.... just trying to let you know status...].

This hasn't been integrated into meta-ti and will also require integration of the corresponding codec stack pieces.  If you want to integrate this into meta-ti, I would suggest first looking at the EZSDK (http://www.ti.com/tool/linuxezsdk-davinci) which has a known compatible set of components pre-integrated.

Are you sure you can use gstreamer-ti with ti8148? AFAIK for
multimedia it's more like the pandaboard so you should use gst-ducati.

Sorry for top post.

gst-ducati is not part of meta-ti and it wasn't integrated yet. Although someone (was it Enrico?) had previously sent unfinished patches for it - you can check the archives. It didn't work for me on the first try and I had no time debugging it further, so the patches got postponed for now - I still have them in my Todo list though...

But either way... DM814x doesn't use gst-ducati.   It uses gstreamer-ti, (on TI81xx branch) which is basically a gst-openmax interface.

When i did it there was the problem that HDVICP2 sources (required to
build the stack) disappeared from TI (public) site, will they ever
come back?

Out of curiosity, can the same version be used for the pandaboard?

No, unfortunately not I'm afraid.  At the moment, there are some differences in underlying components (like codec framework (dce vs omx), syslink and mem management) requiring these different approaches.
