For those who don't know, Google Code will be shutting down.

http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2015/03/farewell-to-google-code.html

As I would hope everyone on this list knows, Google Code hosts
Cryptsetup (Code, issues, and wiki). The most important date in that
post for this project is probably *August 24, 2015* -- the date that
Google Code becomes read-only. Other, less important dates are January
25, 2016 when everything is hosted only as a tarball, and January 1,
2017 when they may or may not delete everything.

Are there any plans for migration? Github seems to be the favorite,
followed by BitBucket.

 - Justin

Urks. Well, I can host the web-version of the FAQ on my own
web-server, but the code, issues, rest of the wiki and the
GIT repository? Especially the code should be hosted
somewhere with a crack security team, signatures and
forward-hashes in GIT nonwithstanding.

This shows (yet again), that Google is not in it for the
tech, but just the profit. I would guess that continuing to
keep Google Code open would cost them mere peanuts.

Arno

Yes, I know about this.

All releases tarballs are already on kernel.org anyway (all completely signed
with whole releases history), so I it is just about pages and issues.
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/cryptsetup/

TBH I do not like GitHub (fot this particular project, not general :)
But cryptsetup has already git mirror there, ditto kernel org.

https://github.com/mbroz/cryptsetup
http://git.kernel.org/cgit/utils/cryptsetup/cryptsetup.git/

The kernel org git will probably become upstream git, not yet sure with
pages and issues yet.

Many projects are using github for (main-)page, issue tracker,--this is not
really satisfactory when one cannot attach extra document and patches...
but yet the easy fork-and-pull alleviate this a little, yet security
projects could
be flooded with that,--and wiki. (No idea on the wiki because I don't
remember
seeing a particularly good one.) Although many projects have quite a good
and
simple page(s) on github. This seems to be a good choice to get a little
help
from the community to contribute for at least the main page/wiki.

All in all, the main page seems to be the only thing that would profit from
this
and maybe a little wiki would fit in.

NOTE: See https://mpv.io and https://github.com/mpv-player for an example.

And of course ZFSonLinux https://github.com/zfsonlinux but ZOL became
a big organization with a a main page/wiki hosted else where.

That solves the most critical question IMO. For the rest we will find
something.
