I am testing a WDS setup using Atheros devices:

  AR928X (ath9k) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ TP-LINK TL-WN722N (AR9271, ath9k_htc) ---- LAN
  managed AP
  4addr on hostapd: WPA2, wds_sta=1

Both sides have their wireless interfaces bridged with their Ethernet
interfaces. Drivers are from compat-wireless-2012-05-10.

tcpdump'ing on both sides, packets from the left are seen on the right
but not the other way.
tcpdump from a monitor interface on the left shows the right side's
frames are not properly encrypted (WEP instead of WPA, incorrect FCS,
etc.)
Same problem when both sides switch roles (AP on the left, managed on the right)

Loading ath9k_htc with nohwcrypt=1 solves the problem but
SSH/SCP works fine, browsing SMB shares from the LAN would hang. I
noticed packets from the LAN are sometimes not transmitted (tcpdump on
the right side AP/VLAN interface shows the packet but is not
transmitted by the 9271).
