Hello.

In combination of my attempt to use use-mainline-bsp option pyro with SABRE, I am getting following error lines in my console log.
This prevents me from doing further debug (since my console shows only these lines.)

I suspect it is related to audio device initialization, but I immediately have no idea where I should look into.
Any suggestion or comment is higly appreciated.

Hello.

I am currently trying this with imx6qsabreauto, and it should work?

(Or some other boards are more popular and and easier to to make it work - there are many i.mx6 based board types out there...)

Hello.
This is linux-fslc (4.9), I am trying use-mainline-bsp option with SABRE AI board.

With base-board attached, I am seeing this error printed out in console log forever. Without base-board, it still issue error with the audio device (perhaps it is not working), but it remain silent so that I can login and do operations on command line.

I have learned that it may be linux-fslc lack of suppport for SABRE AI board and it may be expected, according to the community BSP release note.
(SABRE AI is under support by linux-fslc-imx).

Changing kernel / dtb / u-boot combinations may work, but I do not jump into a hole without enough knowlege.

So, I may continue trying with SABRE AI, well, but I also want to find a good alternative (i.MX6/7 board) for trying the linx-flsc keranel that is relatively safe with linux-fslc for now.
Is SABRE Lite (nitrogen6x) a better choice or any other popular one?
What is the popular board being used with the community..?

Could you try with kernel 4.13.3 or 4.14-rc1?

Hello.

I tried some to build my image with meta-freescale master branch (so that linux-fslc 4.13 will be included, hopefully with necessary changes), but having problem with build.

I encounter build error with lttng-modules/2.9.1-r1 as below.

| .../lttng-modules/2.9.1-r0/lttng-modules-2.9.1/wrapper/kref.h: In function 'lttng_kref_get':
| .../lttng-modules/2.9.1-r0/lttng-modules-2.9.1/wrapper/kref.h:39:24: error: passing argument 1 of 'atomic_add_unless' from incompatible
pointer type [-Werror=incompatible-pointer-types]
|   if (atomic_add_unless(&kref->refcount, 1, INT_MAX) != INT_MAX) {

I locally fixed a few of these errors by looking into the latest source of lttng-modules, which had something like below which gave me some clue, but I feel I should check if this is a right approach before going further.

>#if (LINUX_VERSION_CODE >= KERNEL_VERSION(4,11,0))

Is this possibly a problem in my configuration?

No; it is lttng needing fix.

Can you disable lttng support to test?

I have just booted a imx6qp sabreauto with 4.13.3 kernel and I do not
see any codec probe error:

Hello.
Thank you for your confirmation.

>imx6qp sabreauto

Well I am using 6Q AI (not Plus), so it may be the difference (or not).
Please let me take time to try with the followings.

1) Nitrogen6x with my customized image (yes, I am getting my Nit6Q)
2) 6Q AI with (unmodified) community-BSP based image.

The audio part is common, so should not be any difference.
