tried spitz, and am getting the following:

Thanks,
Cliff

That looks rather like something is wrong with your host's build
environment. Apparently gcc has decided that you have fprintf_unlocked
and using it would be a good idea. AFAIK, there are no glibcs in the
wild which do actually implement fprintf_unlocked so it seems that gcc
must be mistaken in its belief.

I think you might need to do a bit of poking at config.log to see what's
up.

No, if I try to bitbake eglibc-nativesdk, it fails trying to compile
gcc-cross-initial_4.5.

I've not learned much more yet other than locate the above file.

The build that is failing is on a Ubuntu 10.10 machine. The same
setup on a Ubuntu 11.04 machine seems to get past gcc-cross-initial,
and a beagleboard build on my 10.10 machine that is failing with spitz
also seems to be working. Maybe I'll clean and try again.

Thanks,
Cliff

The failing build seemed to work the 2nd time after I cleaned tmp ,
and restarted -- strange!
