I haven't tried either of those images, just fsl-image-gui.  Diego, can you give that a try?  The other images should work, but it would be interesting to know if fsl-image-gui works and while the other core images don't.

Good catch; I am using core-image-x11 (way smaller and faster to build).

My meta-fsl-arm master branch was outdated.
I've updated it and I'm building the images again.

I'll keep you informed as soon as I have the results.

Folks,

After updating meta-fsl-arm and meta-fsl-arm-extra, the same issue is
present.

For qt4e-demo-image:

Unable to load library icui18n "Cannot load library icui18n: (icui18n:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"

For core-image-x11 the /var/log/Xorg.0.log, /var/log/messages and dmesg is
attached.

I noticed that on u-boot the wandboard logo appears on the screen.

Here is my build configuration:

Build Configuration:
BB_VERSION        = "1.19.1"
BUILD_SYS         = "x86_64-linux"
NATIVELSBSTRING   = "Ubuntu-12.10"
TARGET_SYS        = "arm-poky-linux-gnueabi"
MACHINE           = "wandboard-dual"
DISTRO            = "poky"
DISTRO_VERSION    = "1.4+snapshot-20130723"
TUNE_FEATURES     = "armv7a vfp neon"
TARGET_FPU        = "vfp-neon"
meta
meta-yocto
meta-yocto-bsp    = "master:31e6eee860b5f9f4ac9ef0889bcff5648de6e3f9"

I didn't test this image for a while. You could check with strace
which library is missing there.

The core-image-x11 works as expected? From the Xorg log it seems fine.

The screen is black. Is there an application in which I can execute to see
if its worked?

You're suppose to have a terminal running. Here I see the Window
decoration and the cursor blinking.

Which monitor are you using? U-Boot HDMI setup uses a much smaller
resolution and it might explain why you see it and not the desktop.
Can you change U-Boot environment and add:

video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1280x800M@60,if=RGB24

This works here as well.

Hi John,

I re-burned the fsl-image-gui and it worked.
Maybe I did something wrong.

Diego,

That is not what happens with me on either the Dual or the Quad.

John

John,

The screen is black on fsl-image-gui.
I tried to launch matchbox-terminal but not appears on the screen.

I think so - I've tried to mix master and release branches and it does not work
well, as they depend on each other.

Otavio has a really nice repo and setup script for this:
https://github.com/Freescale/fsl-community-bsp-platform

Hi John,

I did it after sent the e-mail. ;-)
I need to add meta-openembedded too. I'm using both (meta-fsl-demos and
meta-openembedded) on master branch, is it correct?

I noticed that your layers don't include meta-fsl-demos - that is the layer that
contains the fsl-image-(gui,test) recipes. You'll want to pull that in and
integrate into your bblayers.

John

Yes; it is something missing.

Thanks Otavio.

It worked with "video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1440x900M@60,if=RGB24" on
core-image-sato and core-image-x11.
But qt4e-demo-image doesn't. May a library is missing on roofts.

Let's see what's going to happen with a fsl-image-gui.
