I just bit-baked a Yocto 1.6 core-image-minimal for qt5.2 testing but can’t figure out how to make my LCD (FWBADAPT-7WVGA) screen work.

U-Boot auto detects it fine but kernel 3.10.17 does not.

I tried with the old

setenv mmcargs 'setenv bootargs console=${console},${baudrate} root=${mmcroot} video=mxcfb0:dev=lcd,SEIKO-WVGA,if=RGB666'
saveenv
boot

but didn’t work either.

Has someone figure this out?

Thanks,

Alfonso

Have you double checked if your kernel is configured to detect it?

I remember we have at least 2 kernel providers for 3.10.17 in 1.6. Can you share your board/kernel provider?

Oh! sorry Daiane, I am using a wandboard-quad and from the wandboard.inc file in meta-fsl-arm-extra it seems it is including the touchscreen and the 3.10.17 kernel.

uname -a output is Linux wandboard-quad 3.10.17-1.0.0-wandboard+g9d567e4 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jun 16 23:43:56 CDT 2014 armv7l GNU/Linux

I hope this information is useful!

Thanks,

Alfonso

The 3.10.17 does not has support for the LCD. I am awaiting a free
time slot to look at it so if no one does it in future I will
eventually do.

Is it possible for you to rework these patches and merge? So we can
fix it here too.

I just applied the patches that Stefan pointed to (http://forums.wandboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=411#p1929) and the LCD now works :) !!!

Thanks to Cake-eater for the patches.

Alfonso

Could you, please, share your work with community?

Even if adding the patch only via recipe, it will help others.

And eventually it's ready/tested to be merged in the kernel git

Daiane

I'll work these patches in and send a branch to test in the next day or so.

Sure !

In order to apply the patches to use the LCD Fusion 7 (with the FWBADAPT-7WVGA-PCAP adatper) with the Wandboard and Kernel 3.10.17 you need download the patches from:

http://forums.wandboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=411#p1929

And copy both files to sources/meta-fsl-arm-extra/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-wandboard-3.10.17

Then add the following line to the recipe sources/meta-fsl-arm-extra/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-wandboard_3.10.17.bb

SRC_URI  = "file://0001-adding-device-tree-entry-and-driver-for-fusion-touch.patch \
	    file://0002-modifying-devicetree-to-enable-mxc_lcdif-driver.patch”

And bit bake your image!
