I've compiled both 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 for i.MX6 SMARC device, just not 
Kontron. I've done it manually using linux-imx6-g++ device configuration 
but it should be doable with yocto too with meta-qt5 layer

Thanks for the info.

 

As the Kontron patch is currently only applicable to the Yocto Daisy branch, does anyone has experience in building Qt 5.4 or newer on Daisy? The meta-qt5 Daisy branch builds Qt 5.2.1 and I would be interested in using the QtWebEngine module that is introduced in Qt 5.4.

They actually did, however providing it to sub-contractor and publishing
it into public is far not the same.

We've discussed upstreraming with them a couple of times. They are not
against in principle, but it requires far non-zero effort for which nor
they not we have spare resources. Maybe, some day...

Have you asked them for the source code? They should be able to
provide their U-boot source code.

Upstreaming smx6 support was blocked about a year ago by u-boot
question. Smx6 u-boot is separate project inside Kontron, with unclear
status, probably with non-public code inside. It is not part of linux
BSP; I actually had only binary while working on BSP.

As far as I got from year-old discussion in list, target without u-boot
can't be added to meta-fsl-arm-extra.

meta-qt layer works perfectly ok on smx6, this gives Qt 5.4 as far as I
remember.

meta-qt layer works perfectly ok on smx6, this gives Qt 5.4 as far as I
remember.

Kontron I don't. It would be nice if you could push them to send the
modules for merging on meta-fsl-arm.
