Hope this is useful as a test case:

Sucessful build of grub2 on Apple Mac OS X

Grub version: SVN 2364
Model: Imac 8,1
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.7
Boot ROM Version: IM81.00C1.B00
Xcode: 3.1.3
Target: efi, 64 bit version

Resulting efi grub works to boot MacOSX

Caveat: configure gave warning about objconv. Needed to download and
compile objconv from http://www.agner.org/optimize/ (use g++ line in
README and install reulting objconv to /usr/bin). Is there an Apple
equivalent of objconv???

James

not as far as I know. objconv is specifically needed for conversion,
and it was noted in the apple gcc patch that it needs objconv (to work
at all) so no surprise there. good that it works for you though.
