v5 has the following changes:

-Addresses some usability issues with the hardware blink support in the LED
code. The Sixaxis has some odd behavior where, on USB, the controller
overrides user LED settings and blinks the whole light bar until the PS button
is pushed. The new patch doesn't filter redundant state for the Sixaxis on
USB so the blinking can be stopped by the user without having to toggle the
state of an LED that is already set correctly.

-The new patch adds a 'global' LED to the DualShock 4 for synchronously
controlling the whole light bar and setting hardware blink rate. Under the
old system where all of the LEDs mapped to one global blink rate triggers
would constantly override each other if different ones were assigned to
different color LEDs and triggers that run their own timers and adjust the
brightness directly couldn't be synchronously applied to the whole light bar.
Now, the global LED controls the hardware blink rate and can synchronously
toggle the state of the whole light bar without disturbing the individual
colors. Additionally, if the user wants to apply different triggers to
the individual colors, that works as well.

-A patch from Simon Wood is included to fix a glitch with a third-party INTEC
controllers where the LEDs would blink when they were set to 'all-off'.

These are made to be applied on top of the latest code in
jikos/hid.git/for-3.15/upstream

Use inliners to make sure that the work queue initialization flag is always
checked and set correctly when initializing or cancelling the work queue.

Use a struct for the Sixaxis output report that uses named members to set the
report fields.

Convert all of the local initialization and shutdown functions to take a
parameter type of struct sony_sc* instead of using a mix of struct sony_sc* and
struct hid_device*.

Allows for the removal of some calls to hid_get_drvdata().

Use the controller Bluetooth MAC address as the unique identifier in the
battery name string instead of the atomic integer that was used before.

Add an IDA id allocator to assign unique, sequential device ids to Sixaxis and
DualShock 4 controllers.

Use the device ID to initialize the Sixaxis and DualShock 4 controller LEDs to
default values. The number or color of the controller is set relative to other
connected Sony controllers.

Set the LED class brightness values to the initial values and add the new led to
the array before calling led_classdev_register so that the correct brightness
value shows up in the LED sysfs entry.

Use explicit module init and exit functions since the IDA allocator must be
manually destroyed when the module is unloaded.

Add support for setting the blink rate of the LEDs. The Sixaxis allows control
over each individual LED, but the Dualshock 4 only has one global control for
controlling the hardware blink rate so individual colors will fall back to
software timers.

Setting the brightness cancels the blinking as per the LED class specifications.

The Sixaxis and Dualshock 4 controllers accept delays in decisecond increments
from 0 to 255 (2550 milliseconds).

The value at index 1 of the DualShock 4 USB output report must be 0xFF or the
light bar won't blink.

v5 addresses some usability issues that arose during testing.

The Sixaxis, when on USB, has an annoying quirk where it will override any LED
settings and flash the whole light bar until the PS button is pushed. Since
the driver can't tell if the controller is overriding the user LED settings,
all led brightness requests are sent to the controller even if they are
redundant. This allows for the user to stop the blinking by setting the
brightness even if the current brightness is already in the desired state.

The DualShock 4 now has an extra 'global' LED control that allows the
whole light bar to be turned on and off synchronously instead of having all
of the individual LEDs map to one global set of delay values.

This fixes inconsistencies that arose in the old system where each individual
LED mapped to one hardware blink delay. This caused conflicts if different
LEDs had different triggers assigned to each one and the triggers overrode
each other's settings. It also made it impossible to flash the light bar
synchronously with triggers like 'heartbeat' that control blinking by running
a software timer and directly manipulating the brightness value, nor could a
user set the blink rate of the individual colors if they wanted to.

This change also allows for the removal of some DS4 specific special-case code
in the blink and brightness functions that was present in the previous
 patches.

Without this patch the 3rd party INTEC (PS3) controller will blink all
leds when user turns them off, it appears to require an extra flag set.

Hi all,
I tested these patches again my controllers (USB connected DS4, DS3-SA and
Intec) and they seem to work OK. I did see some weirdness with DS4,
however I think that this is probably unavoidable with current LED class
and this controller - it probably needs some overall discussion how the
LED class treats RGB leds.

I'd suggest that we use this patch series.
Thanks,
Simon.

DS4 failure when using 'global/timer', only reset by unplugging controller

# echo 80 > 0003\:054C\:05C4.0007\:green/brightness	[green]
# echo timer > 0003\:054C\:05C4.0007\:global/trigger	[flashing green]
# echo none > 0003\:054C\:05C4.0007\:global/trigger [off]
# echo 80 > 0003\:054C\:05C4.0007\:green/brightness	[off????]

DS3SA weirdness before PS button pressed (no jstest activity), works OK
afer PS button is pressed

DSA3SA wrong led, controller plugged in while 'on'. Only happened sometimes

Intec flashing does not (which we knew anyhow/expected)
