Only 4.9? what about all other stable releases?

Ah, I see this didn't make the 4.10.y yet. So yes, I would like to see
4.10.y and 4.9.y get this. It's not clear how I can ask for both since
acceptance in 4.9.y is dependent on acceptance into 4.10.y.

It's not clear to me that I need to do this for Option 2.
After the patch has been merged to Linus� tree, send an email
to stable@vger.kernel.org containing the subject of the patch,
the commit ID, why you think it should be applied, and what
kernel version you wish it to be applied to.

Just ask for it to be included in both :)
Anyway, I just tried to add this, but it doesn't apply cleanly to
4.9-stable, so can you please provide a backported version?
