I have 3970x CPU installed into Gigabyte Designare TRX40 rev 1.0 motherboard.
The UEFI is updated to version F6 so AGESA has version 1.0.0.7.

CPPC is explicitly enabled in UEFI settings. It definitely works in Windows:

Kernel 6.3 fails to load amd_pstate with both "amd_pstate=active" and
"amd_pstate=passive" kernel parameters with the following message:

> amd_pstate: the _CPC object is not present in SBIOS or ACPI disabled

Kernel 6.4.0 doesn't shows the same error "amd_pstate=active",
"amd_pstate=passive" and "amd_pstate=guided".

Do you mean this issue doesn't show up anymore in v6.4.y?

It does show up in 6.4 with exactly the same manner. I just made some typos,

Almost the same HW here.
3970x CPU, Gigabyte Designare TRX40 rev 1.1, BIOS v. FD.
linux kernel v. 6.4.7
No combination of settings activates amd_pstate driver. Error in syslog:

kernel: amd_pstate: the _CPC object is not present in SBIOS or ACPI disabled

In bios there are available setting CPPC and prefered cores, all enabled.
