Noticed that df reports the wrong free space when used on a raid1
btrfs pool with an odd number of devices, e.g.:

Looks about correct? 1.36TiB*1024/2=696.32GiB
The discrepancy with Btrfs free showing ~1.3GiB more than device/2,
might be cleared up by using --raw and computing from bytes. But Free
rounded up becomes 698GiB which is 1GiB less than df's reported
699GiB. Again, it might be useful to look at bytes to see what's going
on because they're each using different rounding up.

Agreed, but the number of available bytes are definitely wrong on
btrfs-raid1 with odd device number. They don't correspodent to
Free on btrfs file usage nor to the unallocated bytes (divided by 2)
eg. my 3-device btrfs-raid1 with 3 2T disks:

Thanks for the reply, I was referring to the available space as
reported by df, total capacity is correct but please note that df
reports for both the 2 disk and 3 disk pools about the same available
space, 465 and 466GB respectively:

devices_info holds device list sorted by unallocated space. We start
with device with smallest available space and add its full available
space (adjusted by allocation profile), then move to the previous device
with more free space.
The problem is that if we have three equal sized devices and RAID1
profile, the first iteration consumes two full devices, thus third
device cannot be used anymore (we need two of them for raid1). Real
allocator will evaluate free space every time and so alternate between
all three devices.

OTOH, this is the correct if the most pessimistic estimation either. If
you have three 250G RAID1 devices and you allocate 250G data in one file
you consume two full devices and won't be able to allocate new data at
all (or for that matter no new metadata either).
So whatever value btrfs returns will be wrong for some allocation pattern.

I considered that but wouldn't a single file still be stripped and
blocks allocated to all devices, on a most free space basis?

Yes, I was unsure and stay corrected. It seems real allocation happens
per chunk and so gets distributed to all devices.
