Hi all,
Can anyone have tried rt-patches on MIPS architecture ? Is RT-linux works
on MIPS architecture with all features support i.e. PREEMPT_HARDIRQS,
PREEMPT_SOFTIRQ, PREEMPT_RCU?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I've asked about MIPS support some weeks ago, the answer was "Support for
MIPS is scheduled for next releases". I think it is not added yet, since
there is no announce about that.

Hi,
Could I know the current state of rt-support on MIPS arch ? When will
it be released with full MIPS support ?
Currently which rt-features MIPS arch supports ?
Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,

There have been patches posted on this Mailinglist. I did not come
around yet to go through them and there are pending review issues from
the MIPS maintainter IIRC. If you need MIPS -RT support please grab
the patches and help to get them in shape.
Thanks,

Let me scroogle that for you...

I searched MIPS specific rt-patches in mailing list upto 27 Jun 2008.
I found only 2 patches
specific to MIPS arch. Posting after 27th Jun 2008 seems to be for
linux-2.6.25.8. I have few
doubts, could you please help me out ?
1) Currently, I am using rt-patches
patch-2.6.29.1-rt9-broken-out.tar.bz2, picked up from
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/ . It has
patches for MIPS arch also.
Are all those patches specific to MIPS are tested and working ? I
mean does those
have any unsolved issues ? Or do I have to test them ?
2) Could I know how many patches posted on mailing list, have been
released so far ?

FYI, both 2.6.24-rt and 2.6.26-rt contain working MIPS support.
The current 2.6.29-rt series does not, as we did not come around to
port it forward. That's still on the todo list but probably will be
pushed into the next 2.6.30 based -rt series.
Thanks,
tglx

The MIPS support in 2.6.29-rt is known to be broken. We have been to
busy to fix it. There has been work done by the folks at lemote, but
it needs testing ...
See http://marc.info/?l=linux-rt-users&m=124103397124285&w=2
The 2.6.24-rt and the 2.6.26-rt series contain stable and known to
work MIPS support.
Thanks,
tglx
