Kernel: 2.6.29.1
Distribution: Debian Testing

Once and awhile I see this:

[2916854.550302] hda-intel: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #0.
Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj.

I do not recall seeing it often (if at all < 2.6.27-8) is this anything to
be worried about?

No big worry about that.  It must be some spontaneous hardware error
that one can see on many HD-audio controllers.
If it's too annoying, you can disable the workaround via bdl_pos_adj=0
option.  But this may lead to a problem with some audio apps like
JACK.
