Greetings all,

following a complaint posted in the odroid forums I tried to boot latest git with mininal config on my odroidc2 board and it doesn't boot.
I've booted the last commit I know to work (61b6abb2a2198d0a659d305ac3dd813a1f900aa1) and it indeed boots.
I've checked the odroidc2 file's logs and there were no changes done after the commit mentioned above.

has there been any structural change that might cause this behavior?

does anyone might have a guess on which commit might be the bad one? that will reduce the bisection size.

Thanks,

Dagg.

Hi Dagg,

I have tested it a few days ago and found out that it is not working only
with gcc 5.x toolchains, please see:
https://bugs.busybox.net/show_bug.cgi?id=9326

you are absolutly correct, if I'm not mistaken gcc 5.x is default now and current u-boot does not support it, only 4.9.x
I'll submit a patch to fix it.
according to the guys at hardkernel, they are suppose to ship a new buildroot based on amlogic's 2016.8 so hopefully there will be some support for 5.x which can be migrated to mainline git.

thanks for the tip.

Dagg.

Yes, it was also reported here and I CC'ed you on the mails.

Without knowing it, I would guess it is related to the toolchain
version. We have changed the default binutils and gcc version since
August.

Can you verify with the gcc/binutils versions used in 61b6abb2a219?
