Hi, I've been experiencing a bug on kernels 5.2 and up that apparently
is uncommon and/or unimportant enough to have both threads mentioning it
die.

On a Ryzen 3 2200G, the amdgpu driver fails upon lightdm login:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1752188

I thought I'd bring this to your attention as the others reporting this
bug have so far been met with silence, and this has trapped me and
others on the unsupported kernel 5.1.21.

Thanks for your time.

I'm not sure that the backtrace listed is particularly relevant for
describing what issue is actually occurring, but if I had to take a
guess based on the ASIC and kernel version I would imagine that it's
Raven's displayable DCC support that's causing you issues.

I believe you'd need to be running mesa, xf86-video-amdgpu and running
without a compositor in your desktop manager. Does this describe your setup?

If you can bisect that would help narrow things down further. The bisect
commit would likely be one that's just changing the amdgpu version
number if it's DCC (since mesa checks that before deciding to enable
displayable DCC).

Afternoon. My apologies for the extended delay, I have an extremely busy
schedule and it takes a rare combination of time and energy for me to be
able to deal with such matters.

I'm afraid it doesn't appear to be DCC, as I have been using
"RADV_DEBUG=nodcc", and I am not using Xorg's amdgpu driver. The
xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu package isn't installed.

I am running with Compiz for a compositor on XFCE4, but the hang occurs
well before my time-delayed script can execute Compiz. My 2200G remains
broken in kernel 5.4.1. I am still stranded on 5.1.21.

I appreciate any insight or suggestions.

Thanks.
