There is an existing oddity around when the spi modes are set
that I would suggest cleaning up in a precursor patch to this one.

As mentioned below, I'm fairly sure bulk_read/write require dma safe buffers.
Though why are you using bulk_write for length 1?
Even more interesting this is spi specific. I would move it to before the
spi regmap stuff is setup at all then just do a normal spi_write.

I'm slightly interested to see this go. Note that the bulk reads
in regmap still need dma aligned buffers I believe.
Looking above it seems like there may be one problem case.
