This patch set adds a MFD core driver which registers
touchscreen and ADC as its client drivers.
The existing touchscreen has been modified to work as
a MFD client driver and a new ADC driver has been added
in the IIO subsystem.

There are 8 analog input lines, which can be used as:
1. 8 general purpose ADC channels
2. 4 wire TS, with 4 general purpose ADC channels
3. 5 wire TS, with 3 general purpose ADC channels

This patch set has been tested on AM335x EVM.

These set of patches are based on top of Touchscreen patch
set submitted.
Subject: [PATCH 0/4] input: TSC: ti_tscadc: TI Touchscreen driver updates [1]

[1] http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-input/msg22107.html

Changes in v2:
Dropped one patch send in the last version after
receiving internal comments. I have merged the changes
	into existing patches.
Also added a new patch to support suspend/resume feature.
Fixed review comments by Matthias Kaehlcke.

Changes in v3:
Addressed review comments by Jonathan Cameron.
Improved ADC driver with more readable labels,
	spaces and comments.

Changes in v4:
Renamed the drivers from ti_xxx to ti_am335x_xxx.
For consistency with other drivers renamed idev to indio_dev
	in IIO ADC driver.
	Replaced suspend/resume callbacks with dev_pm_ops.

Make way for addition of MFD driver.
The existing touchsreen driver is a MFD client.
For better readability we rename the file to
indicate its functionality as only touchscreen.

Add the mfd core driver which supports touchscreen
and ADC.
With this patch we are only adding infrastructure to
support the MFD clients.

This patch adds support for TI's ADC driver.
This is a multifunctional device.
Analog input lines are provided on which
voltage measurements can be carried out.
You can have upto 8 input lines.

Signed-off-by: Patil, Rachna <rachna@ti.com>

Changes in v2:
Addressed review comments from Matthias Kaehlcke

Changes in v3:
Addressed review comments from Jonathan Cameron.
	Added comments, new line appropriately.

Changes in v4:
	Removed extra comments and variables.
rename idev to indio_dev throughout the driver.
	Renamed structs for better readability.

this should be merged with the patch adding support else
we may end up in a case where patch a does the runtime calls
and the call back handlers added later.

Hi,

This is just a gentle reminder for the patch set I had submitted viz. "[PATCH v4 0/5] Support for TSC/ADC MFD driver"
Can you please accept this patch set?
This patch set just adds a new driver and does not break anything existing.

Regards,
Rachna

which tree have these merged in?

I'll assume the rest of this is going through the same tree and ack
rather than signing off and taking it through IIO.

Note that patch 1 does not appear to apply to linux-next which implies some
issues somewhere or that the above series has been picked up for any
trees feeding linux-next as yet.

Note I cannot build test and it won't apply to staging-next
without some merge fixes.
I wonder if this driver is a case for a small tree that gets pulled
into input/iio/mfd in the next cycle. It's a fiddly merge at
best right now as there have been changes that effect it
in all 3 subsystems earlier in this cycle (iio ones may just be
fuzz, I haven't gotten to a state to check it hasn't hit anything
else!)

I would prefer this merged into patch 4 as it's a simple addition to
a driver that should arguably have been there in the first place.

Anyhow I don't actually care that much!

(if someone else is picking this series up). I'll happily
take it through IIO post merge window.

Sorry Rachna, I know this was ready a week ago, but that's still
cutting it fine for the end of the cycle.

Now if someone else wants to take it I'll not mind ;)

This patch set includes some changes in the touchscreen driver.
They have not been acked as yet. I am waiting for a reply from Dmitry.

- Why do you need to depend on that architecture ?
- You must select MFD_CORE.

Have you considered using the regmap MMIO API ? The benefits are not very
obvious in that case, but it's always better to use a common framework.

Samuel.

I agree. And I would even go as far as saying that having all the MFD parts
from this patchset merged into patch #2 would make sense.
Rachna, could you please re-work this patchset in such way, and adress my
comments on patch #2 ? I could then take the MFD parts and then Jonathan and
Dmitry take their parts. There are build time dependencies, but neither the
input nor the ADC driver could be actually built as long as the MFD one is not
merged (provided that the subdevices driver comes with the right Kconfig
dependecy).

Cheers,
Samuel.

I will re-work the patchset and address all the review comments accordingly.
