1. Under kernel 2.6.0-test10, I can't load module "ide-cd" automatically.
2. Unlike under 2.4.x kernel, I must load "cdrom" and "ide-cd" module by
hand or use shell scripts to do it under 2.6.0-test10 kernel, although I
didn't change .config file. If I want to mount my cdrom disk without
loading these modules, it always tells me that " mount:/dev/cdrom is not a
valid block device".
3. Keyword: module, ide-cd
4.Kernel Version:Linux version 2.6.0-test10 (root@king) (gcc version 3.2
20020903 (Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7)) #1 Wed Nov 26 21:40:32 PST 2003
5.
6. Script: mount /dev/cdrom

7.Environment:

7.1.Software: If some fields are empty or look unusual you may have an old
version.
Compare to the current minimal requirements in Documentation/Changes.

Take a look at /etc/modprobe.preload

No file named /etc/modprobe.preload and no manual for this file. Sould you
please tell me where to find manual for it?
Thanks

On my Mandrake Cooker box I have it I've attached a copy which I only use to load the bttv driver. The comments should explain how to use this file.
