This patchset adds thermal support for MT8365 SoC.

MT8365 has 4 thermal sensors, one for CPUs and the rest for debug/dev
purposes. The CPU thermal zone uses passive cooling device with
CPU{0..3}.

Changes in v8:
- Drop support for thermal zones 1, 2 and 3 as they are used for debug only,
and would cause aggregation issues with current MTK thermal driver.
- Split up 4/4 patch into 2 patches for clarity.
- Link to v7: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221018-up-i350-thermal-bringup-v7-0-ebf08ff2eddb@baylibre.com

Changes in v7:
- Fix devm_thermal_of_zone_register() error checks.
- Link to v6: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221018-up-i350-thermal-bringup-

Add logic in order to be able to turn on the control buffer on MT8365.
This change now allows to have control buffer support for MTK_THERMAL_V1,
and it allows to define the register offset, and mask used to enable it.

MT8365 is similar to the other SoCs supported by the driver. It has only
one bank and 3 actual sensors that can be multiplexed. There is another
one sensor that does not have usable data.

Did you try to add a delay between the bank init and the thermal zone
device register (eg. 1ms) ?

May be the HW did not have time to initialize and capture a temperature
before thermal_zone_device_register() is called (this one calls get_temp) ?

A delay of 29 ms actually fixed the issue, thanks for the suggestion. I can send a V9 with this improvement.

Is there anything else to fix perhaps ?

Amjad

I'm glad that helped.

Will you remove the "if (temp > 200000)" test ?

Not in your changes

Thanks
