Hi Renesas PFC folks,

I am faced with a patchs storm for PFC stuf from Geert, Kununori and
Sergei at the same time.

I need help to review, prioritize and handle this. Also I have zero Renesas
boards and no way to test if these collide at runtime, and for SH whether
they collide even at compiletime.

I want you to agree on one person to stack up and accumulate PFC patches
for both fixes and devel and send me a pull request.

Last time Laurent did this, I don not know if he's up for it again or
if you need
to appoint a new submaintainer.

Anyways: suggestions?

Yours,
Linus Walleij

I don't have time to handle this now, but I agree someone must shield you from
the storm. We're working on pinctrl support for the new R-Car H3 (R8A7795)
SoC, hence the amount of patches submitted for review. I believe they should
have been submitted to the linux-sh mailing list only until they reach enough
maturation for broader review.

Magnus can you help out?

Kind of running out of options...

If noone helps out, expect this development cycle to be bumpy for
SH PFC.

The topic is on our agenda for a meeting on Monday, I believe we'll appoint
someone to submaintain the PFC patches and send you pull requests.

I will queue up all sh-pfc patches in a branch, and plan to send a pull request
after v4.3-rc3. That will include both support for the new r8a7795 SoC, and
fixes/updates for the existing code (e.g. the pfc patches from "[PATCH v2 0/6]
ARM: shmobile: Move gpio ranges from C code to DT",
http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-gpio/msg07733.html).

Is that OK for you?

Thanks!

Gr{oetje,eeting}s,

                        Geert

when I'm talking to journalists I just say "programmer" or something like that.

Absolutely, you are a long-time trusted developer. As long as yours,
Kuninori's and
Sergei's patches are accumulated and get tested together I will be very happy
to pull in the result from you.

Linus Walleij
