Of course anonymous CVS access will be read-only ...

Unfortunately, spam to lists often *does* contain the list
address in the To: or Cc: header these days ...

... but it does contain all the usual spam disclaimers.

there is a much simpler method:
drop any mail, which does not contain the address of the mailing list
in To: or Cc:.
Bcc: mails (who wants to post with a bcc legitimately?) and bulk
mailers (which don't put the receipients into the headers) are
rejected. this does not only protect from spam, but also from the
jerks, that subscribe one mailing list to another.
or did i miss some important point?

best regards

Matti, Davem, Ralf, <other list owners>,

Anybody interested in the ~100 anti-spam regexps I'm using
on NL.linux.org at the moment ?

I think I could even setup something where we keep the
anti-spam regexps in a publicly accessible CVS tree (with
of course a nice script to automatically generate the
majordomo.cf).

[and yes ... I'm pretty sure the majordomo setup on NL.linux.org
will filter out this message if it's sent there]
