Hi,

On my Gentoo system, I installed a 2.5.59 kernel, and when I boot it, it tells
me this:

Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task
In idle task - not syncing
 Stuck ??
CPU #1 not responding - cannot use it

But then it goes ahead and boots anyway, and I just have one cpu missing from
programs like top. My system is a supermicro P4DC6+ motherboard with two 2.2
Ghz pentium 4 xeons. I've attached the output of dmesg. If you need
anything else from me that would be of help then let me know.

Thanks for your time.

Please decode that oops on the system after it has booted. or perhaps even
turn on CONFIG_KALLSYMS. Does it boot 2.5.59-vanilla fine? or even with
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.5/snapshots/patch-2.5.59-bk3.bz2?

Hi
lately my box is freezing 3-5 times per week. I have kernel 2.4.25 with
several patches (IMQ, NAT support for IMQ, ESFQ, IPP2P, CONNMARK and
WRR). I don't know these hangs cohere with the last (WRR
http://wipl-wrr.sourceforge.net/wrr.html) patch :-(

 >>> Last rewrited Oops from console is

 >>> ksymoops sais

ksymoops 2.4.5 on i686 2.4.25. Options used
      -V (default)
      -k /proc/ksyms (default)
      -l /proc/modules (default)
      -o /lib/modules/2.4.25/ (default)
      -m /boot/System.map-2.4.25 (default)

Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.

<0> kelnel panic: aiee, killing interrupt handler!

1 warning issued. Results may not be reliable.

Attachement is kernel configuration, HW is NOT overclocked.

Any ideas?
