it can work as an event carrier, so ACPI events 
can be passed between platform(like QEMU emulated)
and OS, OS can execute _Qxx method which defined
by yourself.
this mechanism can be very flexible, and you can
avoid bothering to create some special devices
for QEMU and drivers for linux kernel.
I don't have many examples,
e.g. CPU hotplug,
we can pass hotplug event by _Qxx method, and,
Embedded Controller driver of linux kernel can
get this event, so, it can trigger cpu_up process,
and you'll don't need 
"echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online"
