[PATCH v2] po/hi.po: Add Hindi Translation

[Ramkumar Ramachandra]

Translate a few Git messages to Standard Hindi. It uses a phonetic
script called Devanagari. Focus especially on transforming grammar and
tense in a sane manner to serve as a guideline for future translators.

Note that Devanagari rendering is broken on many applications by
default at this time- the latest Emacs, Vim and Chrome render it
incorrectly.

 Thanks to Antriksh's reviews, we have some more improvements/
 corrections. I've also squashed in a few more of my own. I haven't
 addressed the issue of using "complex or imprecise Hindi words"
 versus "transliteration" fully because I've received several
 conflicting opinions from existing Indian translators on this
 issue. The central issue is that Hindi is seldom used in the field of
 science. I think the best solution is to commit this revision and let
 hi.po evolve naturally as future translators contribute more
 translations.

Now this would become 'ka', 'path' being masculine :)

This can instead be "टेम्पलेट्स %s नहीं मिले" to keep the plural form.
Also, the '%s' here indicates a template directory, so in the Hindi version
also you may want to stick it at the end.

Is this still the case in emacs 23.2?  If so, can you send bug reports
about it (I thought devanagari rendering was more or less supposed to
have been all fixed up by now)?

It works for me if I follow the instructions at
http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/SupportHindi

On 23.1.1, and only if I launch Emacs in X, not in the Gnome Terminal,
but there fonts are GNOME's problem presumably.

I'm using the latest Bzr HEAD, and this doesn't seem to be fixed. If
you can email me off-list with some basic information on what to look
for, I can probably write a useful bug-report and probably even a
patch.

In the future I'll add a bit to po/README about how you need to run
msgfmt --check (or just make at the top-level) when submitting *.po
files.

We might also want to drop --check and use --check-format (i.e. not
--check-header) and maybe --check-domain too. But that's something to
fix another day.
