I wonder if this is same issue I encountered with my mobile CIK on AMDGPU non-DC reporting a bogus TV connector? What debugging options would you like me to turn on?

Thanks,
Shawn

Output below

cmdline options: amdgpu.cik_support=1 drm_kms_helper.poll=0 amdgpu.dc=1

* I use drm_kms_helper.poll=0 to stop DRM from resetting display to wrong resolution when switching screens using a device KVM switch port.

We've seen a bunch of issues where we can't get the connector from vbios
for what we think should be a valid connector id. Print some more info
when this happens.

Hi Shawn,

Hi Harry,

here's dmesg from kernel with dc=1 with patch applied, this is against
Linus's 4.15-rc1 git tag.

Thanks,

Shawn.

Hi Harry,

Here some background from an issue I encountered last summer:

These two patches were used

https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/amd-gfx/2016-August/001674.html
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/amd-gfx/2016-August/001673.html

 From bugzilla: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97460

This might add some context,

Thanks,
Shawn

Hi Shawn,

Finally got a chance to take another look at this and realized that my patch is somewhat wrong and also didn't really give me the info I was hoping for.

Other than the warning do you see any functional problems?

Which laptop is this? This seems very much system-specific.

Harry
