Searching for these error messages I found a comment on GitHub [1]
which states that this is caused by missing assembly syscall wrappers.

Experimental support for RISC-V was added in Go 1.14 [2] and improved
in the next two versions, so make sure you use at least 1.14.

If the problem persists, I suggest to ask in a dedicated RISC-V or Go
forum/mailing list/chat.

I don't have any experience with Go or RISC-V, so take this information
with a grain of salt.

Not deleting the source tree is the default behaviour. It sounds like you've inherited rm_work, so if you want to not delete build trees after completion then add the recipe name to RM_WORK_EXCLUDE.

I'm not sure to what lines you refer by "banner", so I just wrote my thoughts to both below.

Both are probably produced by getty, either util-linux-agetty or systemd-getty.

This "banner" output is the content of /etc/issue (which gets installed by the base-file package).

The error you see about the shell is probably getty failing to open a shell.

I still haven't been able to track this down, can someone tell me in what package is the banner output generated ?

Thanks,

I was going through the kernel boot output and saw the following output, can someone tell me why this might be popping up and how I might modify configuration to resolve? :
.
.
LIMWS (BAE LIMWS base distro) 3.0.4 sbcb-default ttyS0

-sh: cannot set terminal process group (1137): Inappropriate ioctl for device
-sh: no job control in this shell
.
.

Thanks,
Steve

Intel based platform, quick build under "zeus" does not show issue...

I do not see issue under "rocko"...
Currently porting "rocko" to "zeus", Gatesgarth port is next after zeus runs clean...

I am assuming this banner is part of Yocto, are you now attempting to reserve/use a serial device (ttyS0) here ?

Can you possibly point me as to where this is being done ?, and is this a configurable option ?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Can you describe your build host and environment and what steps you take to encounter this error? Does it happen with poky/gatesgarth?

What happens if you follow the steps for:

your 2nd meta-intel probably still has:
LICENSE_PATH += "${LAYERDIR}/custom-licenses"
in layer.conf without having this directory included in the layer?

The key error is this:
“
ERROR: Nothing PROVIDES 'core-image-sato'
core-image-sato was skipped: 'package-managementtools-debug' in
IMAGE_FEATURES is not a valid image feature.
“
So you need to figure out what is happening there.

_append in most cases require a leading space, i.e. you want:
DISTRO_FEATURES_append = " pam"

Let us know if that fixes it.

they can live together, but you need to tweak the linking pieces,
however, I wonder why rpm-native is coming into play for a target package
