I take it there's no SkyLake support on the Xen side, since that starts
with kernel 4.4?

Which distro and kernel are you using? Modeset driver built into Xorg
doesn't work for you?

"The latest xf86-video-intel driver was causing font rendering problems in
emacs, and switching over to the generic driver solved that and a host of
other display problems I had. It feels more performant too, which is
unexpected considering that I'm using skylake graphics."

CentOS 7.2 which has kernel 3.10, but of course I'm compiling and trying
to boot your kernel 4.2. It dumps core in the i915 driver.

Confirmed: Xen is completely busted for Skylake. Kernel can't boot due
to i915 core dump.

PS. I'd understand having your public key on a keyserver and signing
your messages, but what's the idea with attaching your public key to all
the messages?

I would be glad to, but the boot completely hangs when i915 dumps core.
I can't get to functionality.

Isn't anyone else trying to boot the kernel for Xen?

It's a setting. I'll try to remember to unset it.
