Hi all,

Changes since 20090514:

New tree:
	asm-generic

Dropped tree (temporarily):
	asm-generic (build problems)

The fixes tree contains these:
	net/ibmveth: fix panic in probe
net: remove needless (now buggy) & from dev->dev_addr
net: remove needless (now buggy) & from dev->dev_addr (part2)

The kvm tree lost its conflict.

The asm-generic tree gained a build failure and so was dropped for today.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sfr/linux-next.git
(patches at
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/sfr/linux-next/). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" as mentioned in the FAQ on the wiki
(see below).

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups (if any), it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and
64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and allyesconfig (minus
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES) and i386, sparc and sparc64 defconfig.
These builds also have CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED,
CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 137 trees (counting Linus' and 18 trees of patches pending for
Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Jan Dittmer for adding the linux-next tree to his build tests
at http://l4x.org/k/ , the guys at http://test.kernel.org/ and Randy
Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.

There is a wiki covering stuff to do with linux-next at
http://linux.f-seidel.de/linux-next/pmwiki/ . Thanks to Frank Seidel.

Hi Stephen,

can you please add the tree at

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/bp/bp.git for-next

to linux-test for a wider testing. It is rebased ontop of
45d447406a19cbfd42720f066f156f4eb9d68801 (Linus's tree from yesterday).

Thanks.

A hint as to what the tree is about would be nice. It looks like EDAC
stuff (mostly AMD64). If so, you are not listed as a maintainer of that
code (Doug cc'd).

The boilerplate:

What I tell everyone: all patches/commits in the tree/series must
have been:

posted to a relevant mailing list
	reviewed
	unit tested
destined for the next merge window (or the current release)

*before* they are included. The linux-next tree is for integration
testing and to lower the impact of conflicts between subsystems in the
next merge window.

Basically, this should be just what you would send to Linus (or ask him
to fetch). It is allowed to be rebased if you deem it necessary.

It is an EDAC module for AMD k8, Fam10h and Fam11h processors.

I'll send a patch to update that later.

It is destined for the .31 merge window, as Andrew suggested.

Let me know if there's anything more needed.

Thanks.

This is usually printed when your user application (wpa_supplicant,
network manager, etc.) goes down or disassociates.

Don't know what is going on here. Could your AP be out of reach or not
responding?

There were some changes recently to this ioctl, but I am not familiar
with details. Johannes will know.

Yeah, this is normal and indicates that the supplicant called
SIOCGIWMLME, which could either be triggered internally by the
supplicant, or even more likely, because NetworkManager requests that
the supplicant disconnects nicely before switching networks or taking
the connection down.

Yeah, I'm not sure -- this happens when clearing keys. I'll look into
it, we probably need to accept removing a key that doesn't exist.

Why bother (if that's actually the root cause)? Maybe the supplicant
should be fixed. Other drivers return ENOENT in this case, so mac80211
certainly isn't out-of-common-spec here now.

I just looked at the code in wpa_supplicant, it doesn't care a bit, just
prints the error. Problem is users attribute any other breakage to the
error it prints since our behaviour changed...

I meant "make wpa_supplicant not print anything out on -ENOENT".

OK, so I will call it edac-amd (in case we ever get a generic edac tree).

Thanks for all the info - I just had no idea where this was coming from.

I will add the tree from today.
