if it's bad you should think nothing of taking the dewalt cordless, and
putting a hole through the platters and the case...

It's clear that reiserfs is headed that direction.

You can already mount an encrypted filesystem via the loopback interface.
and there's no particular reason why you actually need swap in the
first place. There are certianly valid reasons why you want swap (not
enough memory for example) but enough ram to run without swap is a pretty
attainable target on your average desktop machine these days if you want
it(512MB is about $100 US in two dimms)
